About Our Church

Jesus once said that the greatest actions we as humans take in life are to love God first, with everything we have, and then to love our neighbors as we love ourselves (Matthew 22:34-40).  He was saying that the meaning of life is found in relationships: a personal relationship with God through Christ; a relationship with other people; and a relationship with ourselves.  This is what Temple Baptist Church is all about-being a Christ-centered church where people can find and build relationships! VISION STATEMENT:  Temple Baptist Church is a caring, loving community where:                                     God is worshipped;                                     People grow spiritually; and                                     The love of Jesus is shared with all. CORE VALUES:  As a fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ we value: Worshiping God in Spirit and Truth drawing upon heart, mind, soul, and strength providing depth for the believer and accessibility for the seeker helping people encounter God     Christian Spiritual Formation for all ages (children, youth, adults) offering opportunities for each person to grow spiritually offering opportunities for each person to grow educationally, socially, and emotionally A community of love and care ministering to one another in times of joy and celebration ministering to one another in times of sorrow and need A welcoming and inviting community open to All people celebrating ethnic diversity affirming the equal partnership of women and men Relational and Participatory Missions seeking as individuals and groups to meet human needs around us serving to share God’s love in both word and action To help us fulfill our purpose, Temple Baptist Church currently partners with the following groups:  Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (Atlanta and North Carolina); Baptist State Convention of North Carolina; Yates Baptist Association; Interfaith Hospitality Network; CROP; Baptist House at Duke Divinity School; and Campbell University Divinity School.
